How to make Vietnamese fried sweet potato ( khoai lang chien )


Today I will show you how to make Vietnamese fried sweet potato, khoai lang chien ^^. Fried sweet potato is a traditional snack and chip in Vietnam, especially in the south of Vietnam, where I was living and growing up. 


Ingredients ( serving for 2-4 people):


_650-700 gram of sweet potato
_380 gram plain flour
_180 ml of water
_8 tablespoons of sugar 
_1 teaspoons of salt
_10 gram sesame (*optional)
_5 gram Korean red chilli flakes (*optional)


Step 1: we need to peel the potato and wash the sweet potatoes again with water before cut it.
Step 2: cut the sweet potatoes in French fries style but bigger ^^
Step 3: mix plain flour, sugar, salt, sesame and chili flakes in the mixing bowl.
Step 4: we carefully add water and mix this combinent until it looks thick like this.
Step 5: put the sweet potatoes and the combinent in the mixing bowl and carefully mix it
Step 6: put the oil in the pan and turn the heat on medium heat.
Step 7: put the sweet potatoes in the pan and fry these until these look a little bit golden,
then turn the heat to low and fry these until these look golden brown.
Step 7: put kitchen paper on the dish and when the sweet potatoes look golden brown,
we take these out of the pan and put it on the dish with kitchen paper.
Because my pan is quite small and I did not use enough oil so that I need to fry this about 3 times ^^.
Step 8: Finally, we have the sweet potato chips to eat now ^^
